14 Brazilian footballers who have played in Ukraine managed to return to their country with their families in the midst of the Russian invasion. This is a continuation of their viral video on social media.
Last week, a video circulated of a group of Brazilian players and their families in a hotel in Kiev. It is known, they have samba country players who live in the Ukrainian capital.
In the video, they ask the Brazilian government to help them get out of there. And reported by ESPN on Wednesday (2/3/2022) afternoon WIB, these efforts have paid off.
There are 13 Shakhtar Donetsk players who came from Brazil, as well as one Dynamo Kiev player who managed to get out of Ukraine, and has now arrived home. Their destinations are different, some are to Sao Paulo, some are to Rio de Janeiro.
Efforts to return to the country of origin is not easy. Maycon, who plays for Shakhtar, had to go to Romania first by land, then proceed to Frankfurt, Germany. From there, then he flew to Brazil.
“It’s hard to put into words what’s happened the last few days. It was a mixed feeling, terror, fear. Then now I feel relieved, able to go and we are all fine,” said Maycon after landing in Sao Paulo.

Marlon Santos, a Shakhtar player who landed in Rio de Janeiro, said the same thing. He was grateful that his escape effort had the help of the Ukrainian Football Federation.
“There was a feeling of terror and hopelessness in every moment. We heard the sound of warplanes, bombs, it was a dire situation. But there were also those who dared to take risks, like Junior Moraes, who managed to go find food and diapers for the children,” he said. Marlon.
The Ukrainian league is being suspended for the time being, but these Brazilian players don’t want to think about going there for now, let alone having to return to a country that is at war.
“I just came out of a war zone, and now is not the time to think about football. I just want to relax with my family and support Ukraine because I love that country,” said another Shakhtar player, Dodo.
According to data, Shakhtar’s 13 players from Brazil are Dodo, Vitao, Marlon, Maycon, Marcos Antonio, David Neres, Tete, Alan Patrick, Ismaily, Pedrinho, Fernando, Vinicius Tobias, and Junior Moraes. The last name is known to already have a Ukrainian passport. Meanwhile, one Dynamo Kiev player from Brazil is Vitinho.
