2022 “Pink Storm” women’s basketball tournament officially launched

China News Service, Beijing, March 9th. The national launching ceremony of the 2022 “Pink Storm” women’s basketball tournament was held in Beijing on the evening of the 8th.
Song Xiaobo, the founder of “Pink Storm” and director of the Youth Committee of the Chinese Basketball Association, said that the purpose of launching this event is to create a high-quality event platform for women who love to play basketball across the country to show themselves, and to help popularize women’s basketball, especially young people. Women’s awareness of sports events allows more female sports fans of different ages to participate widely, with the goal of helping to strengthen the foundation of Chinese women’s basketball, strengthen the Chinese women’s basketball team, and improve the technical level of Chinese women’s basketball. She hopes to make “Pink Storm” an internationally renowned basketball event.

The “Pink Storm” women’s basketball competition will be held in 16 provinces across the country. Through the competition, women’s basketball elites will be selected and future women’s basketball stars will be trained. In the opening match, the Beijing women’s team will play against the Guangdong women’s team. The competition is divided into small age groups and older age groups.
The “Pink Storm” women’s basketball event was initiated by Song Xiaobo, with the Chinese Basketball Association and the Beijing Basketball Association as the guiding units, and the China Youth Entrepreneurship and Employment Foundation and the Yue Yuen Innovation and Entrepreneurship Public Welfare Fund as the supporting units.
