21 days driving ban for Remco Evenepoel after speeding | cycling

On November 12, 2020, Remco Evenepoel drove 125 km/h on the Ninoofsesteenweg in his home municipality of Schepdaal, where 70 km/h is allowed.

The fact that the rider of Quick Step – Alpha Vinyl drove way too fast more than a year ago, he now faces a three-part penalty. He will be banned from driving for 21 days, fined 400 euros and will also have to retake his theoretical driving test.

The latter because Evenepoel had been in possession of his driver’s license for less than two years at the time of the facts. Evenepoel’s lawyer did not deny the misstep, but called it a youthful sin.

Evenepoel himself drove the third stage of Tirreno-Adriatico on Wednesday and was therefore not present in the police court.
