Preparations are underway for the Racchetti-da Vinci, which through the Commission At school against violence against women (made up of the referent Sara Locatelli and her colleagues Barbara Esposito, Rita Ines Bertoni, Wendy Hall), starting from 4 pm an event in Piazza Duomo, in collaboration with Pallacanestro Crema, a basketball club engaged in the Serie B championship, which since 2016 gets talked about thanks to the social project #NOVIOLENZACONTROLEDONNE, which aims to raise awareness among citizens on the issue of gender-based violence.
Girls’ own dancefloor, this is the title given to the event, for a flash mob with dances, songs, reading of prose and poetry, for whose program the students from different classes of all addresses of the school directed by Claudio Venturelli were involved: scientific, linguistic, classical, and in particular the participants in some workshops, such as theater, dance and music, which expand the educational offer of the Institute.
Tomorrow we will start at 4 pm, with a flash mob that will engage the girls coordinated by Wendy Hall, in which the players of the Cream Basketball will also actively participate, who will take care of proposing songs on gender violence, trying to involve passers-by in the choreography. In the program conceived by teachers and students of the Racchetti-da Vinci, an alternation of songs and readings of literary passages on the theme of women, from Italian, English and Spanish literature, to which the players of the Crema Basketball will bring their contributions: from Oriana Fallaci (Letters to an unborn child), to Virginia Woolf (A Room of One’s Own), to Charlotte Bronte (Jane Eyre), to two poems in Spanish by José de Espronceda and Gabriela Mistral.
The event, in addition to the Racchetti-da Vinci Commission, which had already proposed various activities also last November, on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, avails itself of the collaboration of the Municipality of Crema and will end with the reinterpretation of no es no, an original production by Racchetti – da Vinci, presented a few months ago and also visible on the school’s YouTube channel.
