A convention for baseball coaches

A convention for baseball coaches

Baseball Quebec, Bas-Saint-Laurent region, will hold a coaches convention on Sunday, March 20 in Rimouski.

The president of the organization, Luc Jobin, is delighted with the response from those who teach baseball in the region as the thirty or so available places have been filled. In fact, it could accommodate two more coaches.

The quality of the stakeholders involved is enough to arouse interest, starting with Dany Paradis-Giroux of Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac, star pitcher of the Puribec Senior Baseball League, and Marc-Antoine Bérubé, of Trois-Pistoles. These two pitchers played for the Baseball Academy of Canada (ABC) and in American colleges. Bérubé was drafted by the Oakland Aces.

Vincent Michaud, from Rivière-du-Loup, also a former member of the ABC and the American university network, as well as Luc Jobin, actively involved in the AA program in the region, will also share their knowledge.

Themes

The main themes covered are: strategies and defensive play: the devil is in the details; dynamic training: developing individual and collective skills; receiver: a key position not to be overlooked; batter: myths to reconstruct and skills to develop; pitcher: technical and psychological aspects; and train a young person with ADHD.

The convention, which will be considered an annual NCCP training, will be held at the facilities of the new Baseball ID Training Center

After two years severely disrupted by the pandemic, the next baseball season is being prepared across the region. Leagues will start on the usual dates and tournaments and championships will be back.
