The City of Pontarlier will reconnect this Sunday with a major judo competition. It’s been a long time since the capital of Haut-Doubs experienced such an event. Thus, judo Pontarlier Haut-Doubs was entrusted with the organization of the departmental championships of the discipline in the “youngest” category. Nearly 200 young competitors, from the four corners of the department, aged 11 and 12, have already been announced. The organizers make an appointment with the public at the Pontissalien departmental dojo, which is located rue du Toulombief.
This gathering is one of the largest of the past two years. The health crisis having suspended many sporting events. Combat sports have also been particularly impacted. “The clubs have taken the decision not to take too many risks and to postpone their competitions” explains Guillaume Pavé, the treasurer of Judo Pontarlier Haut-Doubs. And to continue: “we young Pontissalian judokas are super happy to be able to participate in such an event”.

In Pontarlier, as elsewhere, the clubs hope that their young shoots will be able to express themselves and win their qualification for the next regional deadlines. The party promises to be beautiful. Doubiste youth will also be keen to rise to the occasion to win the medals at stake.
