Kamara’s ideal replacement is Wilmar Barrios, he’s the one to go for
“For me the ideal replacement for Kamara is Wilmar Barrios, he is the one to go for. It’s a good plan in absolute terms if the sanctions against Russian clubs are confirmed. He plays at Zenith, he’s under contract until 2026, so basically if Zenith can be in the Champions League next year it’s unreachable. He has a big rating, he will be 29 at the end of the year, he is not a well-typed thirty-year-old like Strootman either. If the Russian clubs are not in the European Cup, you have to go find him, go after him. It’s the same profile as Kamara, they have the same morphology even if Barrios must be a few centimeters shorter. He is really interesting in the use of the ball, he can come out calmly, cleanly under pressure. He can play in central defense, although I’ve never seen him play in that position in Colombia, but it was done at Zenith apparently. It’s the same profile, the same game intelligence, it will plug the holes in the middle. This is the right profile for the position and especially if you can have it without transfer compensation.
