ALGIERS- The athletes Aissa Belkadi (Arba) and Lynda Laghribi (Wifak from Algiers) won the title of the national table tennis championship (men and women), which ended on Saturday in Tipasa.
“This competition was of a very high technical level”, according to the president of the table tennis federation (FATT), Toufik Ailem, who was satisfied with the good performance of the players helped by the excellent organization of the competitions.
Among the men, it was the representative of the Arba club, Aissa Belkadi, who distinguished himself in this meeting, after beating Abdelghani Boughebrine (AS Khroub) in the final, while 3rd place returned to Abderrahmane Azala (El-Attaf).
In ladies, the title was won by the international, Lynda Laghribi (Wifak from Algiers), winner in the final, from Widad Nouari (Ouargla), while the player Katia Kessaci (individual license) took 3rd position.
On the sidelines of the competitions, financial bonuses were awarded to the players of the national team, bronze medalists, during the African championship, played last September in Cameroon.
In addition, the APS learned on Sunday, the installation of a new national technical staff, in charge of preparing the various national selections, in the presence of the president of the FATT, and the national technical director (DTN), Chérif Derkaoui and the director of training and supervision, Ahmed Cherouf.
On the sidelines of the installation ceremony, a meeting was held during which the President of the FATT and the DTN reviewed the main points and the objectives set to raise the level of table tennis in Algeria, in order to to honor national colors in international competitions.
