Aleksander Aamodt Kilde wins Kvitfjell Men’s Super G and Little Globe

The penultimate men’s Super G of the Alpine Skiing World Cup went to Aleksander Aamodt Kilde on Sunday in Kvitfjell. Under the sun of his country, the Norwegian Kilde set the best time in 1:25.91. He was only 7/100ths ahead of James Crawford, bib 19, who was still in the lead at the last intermediate. The Canadian climbs on his first World Cup podium. Austrian Matthias Mayer took third place by 12/100ths of a second.

This 7th victory of the season, and the 13th in career, of Kilde also ensures the gain of the small globe of the specialty. He had already won the Super G World Cup in 2016 and of course the General World Cup in 2020. He has 480 points and can no longer be beaten after the World Cup final in Courchevel / Méribel the 17th of March. Mayer is now second at 130 points (350). The Swiss Marco Odermatt finds himself 3rd with 322 points. The Norwegian, who is also leading the downhill World Cup, is doing a very good job in the general classification of the big globe.
