Alexander Zverev: The tennis star receives this penalty for freaking out – sports mix

This freak out now has consequences!

Alexander Zverev (24) completely freaked out at the ATP tournament in Acapulco, Mexico, two weeks ago.

After a defeat in doubles, the fuses for the number 3 in the world blew completely. Zverev repeatedly hit the referee’s chair with his bat, on which the referee was still sitting.

As a result, he was banned from the tournament and had to pay a $40,000 fine. In addition, the man from Hamburg had to pay back the prize money of $30,000 and lost his world ranking points for the tournament.

Now the tennis organization ATP has done it again!

Zverev is now under very special observation. He was fined $25,000 and given an eight-week suspended sentence.

Called: Zverev is not allowed to commit another violation until February 22, 2023 – one year after the incident. Otherwise fine and suspension will apply!

The ATP states what could lead to the penalties:

1. “Unsportsmanlike conduct resulting from an act such as disrespectful or aggressive behavior towards an official, opponent, spectator or other person during or after the conclusion of a game.”

2. “Verbal or physical insults against an official, opponent, spectator or any other person on or on the field of play.”
