Alun Wyn Jones recalled by the Welsh before France

Legendary Wales captain Alun Wyn Jones has been recalled to the Wales squad preparing for the match against France in the Six Nations Championship, the Welsh Federation announced on Tuesday.

Jones (36, 148 caps) has been out since the start of the competition with a shoulder injury. The second line was summoned “to continue his rehabilitation” before the reception of the Blues, March 11 in Cardiff, during the 4th and penultimate day of the Six Nations Tournament.

Several players were released, including Cardiff opener Rhys Priestland, who suffered a calf injury. Others, like Uilisi Halaholo (Cardiff), Aaron Wainwright (Dragons) or Gareth Davies (Scarlets) were returned to their clubs to gain playing time before returning to the Welsh camp. France, the last undefeated team in the 2022 Tournament, can hope to win its first Grand Slam since 2010.
