América de Cali: 1-0 victory with two expulsions against Deportivo Cali in the 2022 League | Colombian Soccer | Betplay League

América de Cali defeated Deportivo Cali 0-1, in the classic 295 for the Colombian league at the Cali Stadium in Palmaseca. The American team started winning very early with Adrián Ramos’ goal and despite suffering the expulsions Yaliston Martínez and Larry Angulo in the first half, they managed to get the game going.

The match started off quite fast with both teams pressing the starts, while they adapted to the difficult pitch, due to the rain that had fallen hours before in Palmaseca. At minute 9, América scored the first and only goal after a pass to the right side from Juan Portilla to Elvis Mosquera, the winger crossed and Adrián Ramos went ahead inside the area and scored the partial 0-1.

Cali began to react and at minute 15 he generated his first clear option down the left side, with a cross that rejected the visit, Sebastián Leyton finished off with great power and Joel Graterol was able to reject to maintain the advantage. Four minutes later the “scarlet” responded with a header from John García, which went slightly off the vertical right of Guillermo De Amores.

The ‘sugar bowlers’ continued to reach the goal defended by Graterol with danger, but they lacked effectiveness with shots from Yony González and Jhon Vásquez, taking advantage of the advantages that America left at times when attacking, especially through Jorge Segura’s sector.

In the last minutes of the first half, there was a strong and dangerous clash between Aldair Gutiérrez and Yaliston Martínez; After reviewing the VAR, the referee Wilmar Roldan decided to expel Martínez for putting the guayo in Rodriguez’s face. Seconds later Larry Angulo had the same luck when he received the yellow card for a foul on Aldair himself and for protesting strongly against the referee, he received the second card and was sent offleaving his team with 9 players.

For the second part there were important changes in the rosters of both teams, in Cali Agustín Vuletich entered and debuted for Sebastián Leyton, while in America Carlos Sierra, Alejandro Quintana and Adrián Ramos left and Didier Pino, Luis Alejandro Paz and Joider Micolta entered.

The Americans, despite having two men less on the field of play, were able to get close to the rival area with a powerful shot by Luis Paz, who hit Amores’ horizontal post. With the passing of the minutes, Cali was pressing much closer to Graterol and they achieved a couple of arrivals with shots from medium distance, which the Venezuelan goalkeeper stopped or sent to the corner kick.

The offensive actions and dominance belonged entirely to the Verdiblancos, who were unable to leave their forwards with clear options to tie the game. while the ‘red devils’ held up very well with their defenders and in the end they took a very important victory, especially because of the two men they had less than for more than 45 minutes.

On the following date, Cali will visit Atlético Bucaramanga at the Alfonso López Stadium and América will host Independiente Medellín at the Pascual Guerrero.
