Chen Yansheng has an American offer on the table to sell Espanyol. This is stated by the newspaper ‘La Grada’. It is not the first proposal received by the Chinese businessman to divest himself of his actions, but now, according to the newspaper, it could be different. The U.S. sports management investor group, which already owns a conglomerate of clubs in the U.S. (such as MLS’s Orlando SC), would only set one condition for the purchase to be effective: that the team maintain the category.
Among the business owners of Orlando SC are Dan DeVos, owner of Orlando Magic, and Zigy Wilf, whose family owns the Minnesota Vikings in the NFL. These investors, according to ‘La Grada’, would now like to add a European group to their assets. The media reports that it is unaware of the bid figure, but points out that, having Chen rejected bids of 200 million previously, the proposal should be above 300.
