Anderlecht will only come under steam against KV Oostende after the break | Jupiler Pro League 2021/2022

Win for Union, Club Brugge and Antwerp. Anderlecht couldn’t stay behind with Ghent’s hot breath on its neck. But in a particularly lackluster first half, the Purple & White looked uninspired and tired. The impurities piled up.

Ostend effortlessly remained upright and occasionally countered. Only once Anderlecht came close to a goal, but Kouamé missed the perfect opportunity. An imperturbable pigeon on the field was about the most exciting thing to experience afterwards.

Shortly after the break, Refaelov took the pressure off the Purple & White. A one-two with Zirkzee didn’t come out as intended, but the ball did fall at the feet of Refaelov and he finished it cold-blooded from close by.

Anderlecht subsequently failed to hold onto the ball and so it remained exciting. Ostend only had a hard time in the final quarter. Urhoghide was able to steal the ball from the broken Kouamé with an ultimate tackle. A hit by Raman was then again disallowed for offside.

Anderlecht had their sheep on dry land only 12 minutes before the end. After a nice one-two with Kouamé, Verschaeren tapped the 2-0 through Scherpen’s legs and barely 4 minutes later it was already 3-0. Substitutes Amuzu and Raman found each other and the latter aimed the ball neatly into the goal in one time.
