‘For me it is very difficult to know that in my country they condemn me without knowing what has happened, that destroys me.’ Andres ‘Manga’ Escobar He is alone in Iceland and was charged and convicted in the first instance of alleged sexual abuse against a woman who is of legal age.

The footballer has been in a judicial drama for six months and is serving his sentence in Reykjavík, the Icelandic capital, although he is not in prison and insists that he is innocent, that he has convincing evidence and that the justice system in Iceland omitted it.

This Monday, March 14, Escobar confessed what he is experiencing, in statements to ‘First Touch’ from Win Sports.

‘An injustice is being done to me. I am innocent of everything that is accused of me. I want to ask for help, I don’t know if the government or some expert, because they have not treated me fairly. My passport was illegally taken away,” she said.

Andrés Ramiro Escobar narrated his version of the events in the Colombian sports channel: ‘I met her in the center of the city, she told me that I really liked the culture of Colombians, the boys of color; we decided to go to my apartment by consent of both, a very dear girl, happened what had to happen between two adults, with the consent of both”.

“The next day, she was normal. I have the conversations on my phone, I was waiting for him to arrive at his house. The next day I realized that she had left her jacket, she told me that her mother and father were going to pick her up; It seemed strange to me, and the ones who arrived were the police. She says that she doesn’t remember anything, and a friend told her that if she didn’t remember, that was rape. The police say that she was not fit to give consent and that was rape. In the exams there are no signs of a struggle or anything, besides he is not a minor”, reported ‘Manga’.

He then commented on what for him is an injustice in his case: “They questioned me, I mentioned to them about the conversations on my phone and everything. This was in September of last year. They told me that they were holding my passport for a month and they never returned it to me, only one day they informed me that they were taking me to court. The tests were not admitted, they were omitted. I presented them, because my lawyer told me that with that it was impossible for me to be convicted, but the judge omitted them to sentence me. They even left out a part of her father’s statement., which said that they talked for a long time. That part was not in the court report.

The soccer player asked for help and in the midst of his live statements, he received legal and emotional support, since ‘Manga’ Escobar showed that the drama he is experiencing has led him to think about attacking his integrity.
