On the first Sunday of spring, the Byzantine Archers, after the long winter, leave the indoor gym to move to the outdoor fields. Thus officially begins the outdoor season of the region with the “fourth H&F Faenza tournament” organized by the archers from Faenza.
There are not many archers who are ready to face the spring weather in March and the not very numerous participation in the competition confirms this. A short distance from the end of the indoor season, in fact, the time to train on medium and long distances was not much, but the Byzantine Archers still try to fight for it by hitting the center 4 times: the brigade of 6 Ravenna archers wins three gold medals and one of bronze. We remind you that in HF tournaments the point count is different than in indoor competitions: the targets range from 1 to 6 points and not 1-10 as for indoor.
Considering that the targets are 24 (12 at a known distance and 12 at an unknown distance) and that three arrows are always shot at each target, the maximum score obtainable is 432. And Marcello Tozzola with the Olympic bow scores 339 points, conquering the first gold medal of the day for the male masters category. Also for the Olympic arc, gold medal also for Sofia Fuschini with a score of 231 for the junior female category. Closes the trio of golds Angela Padovani, who dominates the classic female master nude bow, winning the gold medal with a score of 262.
Returning to the Olympic arc, Alessandro Farinella wins the bronze medal for the senior male category with a score of 283. Nothing to do for the compound division, represented by Denis Costantini and Luca Ravaioli who respectively get 5th place with 372 for the male senior category and 9th place with 364 for the male masters category.
