At the French UNSS archery championships

Chambon-sur-Voueize. As part of the “shared sport” agreement which has involved for many years the DITEP of Evaux-les-Bains and the Jean-Zay college of Chambon-sur-Voueize, the young people of the two structures practice archery in common on Wednesday afternoons under the direction of Frédéric Nore, sports educator at DITEP.

This year, the brilliant performances achieved at the academic level made it possible to qualify two teams for the French UNSS championships which took place in Châtillon-sur-Seine (Côte-d’Or) from March 9 to 11: a college team made up of Romane , Ange, Kélyan and Florian as well as a shared sport team with Hugo, Timéo, Tony and Sarah. To deal with any disputes after the volleys, Eglantine officiated as a young referee.

In the “college” competition, the quartet was not unworthy against more seasoned competitors and finally finished 13th. In shared sport, the team ranks 4th in the first phase before failing just outside the grand final in the second duel. Faced with the teams from Nantes and Lille during the final duel, the young Creusois did not tremble and won the bronze medal of these French championships with 390 points, the best score in the competition all the same!

Congratulations to the young archers, the referee and coaches Frédéric Nore and Hervé Damette, who bring bronze back to the township and a great experience of cohesion through sport.
