Atlanta back to winning ways

Atlanta back to winning ways

After two defeats conceded in Detroit and Milwaukee, Atlanta has recovered in the right direction. On their floor, the Hawks beat the Clippers 112-106.

At the end of the season where every victory counts in the fight for the play-offs, Atlanta has been able to regain this composure in the money time without which nothing would be possible. The Hawks did not panic after a basket from Ivica Zubac which allowed the Clippers to return to 108-106 at 56” from the buzzer. De’Andre Hunter immediately breathed new life into the Hawks to ensure this 32nd success of the season.

Clint Capela contributed to this victory. With his 14 points and 11 rebounds for a differential of +4, the Genevan was able to gain respect in the air. Tenth in the Eastern Conference with three wins over Washinhton, Atlanta must now continue with the arrivals of Indiana on Sunday and Portland on Monday.

This evening was also marked by the 1336th victory of Gregg Popovich in the regular season. The San Antonio coach set the record in a 104-102 win over Utah. He is now ahead of his mentor Don Nelson, whose assistant he had been at Golden State. Gregg Popovich, who led the USA to the Olympic title last year in Tokyo, has been in charge of Spurs for 26 years. He needed 2030 matches to break this record.
