This season, friendly tournaments are getting a high-tech upgrade thanks to a new request designed to optimize competition and skill growth.Last Saturday, BC Neufchâteau hosted the first youth tournament of the year, welcoming nearly 50 aspiring badminton players from across the province. this event marked the debut of the FFB’s groundbreaking application, which is transforming the way young athletes compete.
Prior to each tournament, participants now complete a questionnaire through the app. This data is used to categorize players based on their skill level,ensuring fairer and more competitive matches. The system also allows for mixed-gender competition, expanding opportunities for players to challenge themselves against a wider range of opponents.This innovative approach promises several benefits. Players are guaranteed to face opponents of similar ability, leading to more engaging and rewarding matches.The increased number of games per tournament provides valuable experience and accelerates skill development.
The FFB’s new system is currently being piloted in friendly competitions this season. Early feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with players and coaches alike praising the app’s effectiveness and user-friendliness.
