Intense days were lived in the Olympic Gymnasium of the Sports Institute of Aguascalientes, which once again opened its doors to receive the entire badminton family at the national level with the qualifier for the specialty heading to the CONADE Games with the participation of more than 300 athletes from throughout the country in the categories from 15 to 19 years in different modalities.
This Sunday the last matches of the tournament were held, emphasizing that depending on the category, different methods were used to define the qualifiers, either by round robin among the athletes or with direct tournament finals. In the Under 15 category one of the most outstanding athletes was Edwin García who was crowned in the men’s singles and doubles modality, in the women’s Malissa McKor won the gold in singles and together with Camila Morales they won the doubles, in the mixed modality Gael Velázquez and Camila Morales took the victory completing the category champions, but there were many more athletes who took their ticket.
In the Under 17 category, the most outstanding athletes were Cecilia Madera and Juan Carlos Torres, who were crowned in both the singles and doubles modalities, while in the Under 19 category, the winners were distributed in different ways, with Miriam Jacqueline Rodríguez being the only athlete to repeat gold. by taking first place in both women’s and mixed doubles. Thus, one more national event organized by Aguascalientes came to an end, now those classified will have time to prepare for the CONADE Games, which are the most important event, at least for these athletes who are just beginning their adventure in the discipline.
