After Sunday’s victory against the Bakery Piacenza comes another direct confrontation for Edilnol Basketball Biellaon stage at the Allianz Cloud against theUrania Milan for the recovery of the thirteenth first leg of the A2 Old Wild West championship, green round.
FIRST FOURTH. To start the match coach Zanchi relies on the usual quintet which sees the presence of Bianchi, Hasbrouck, Pollone, Davis and Morgillo. The first basket of the challenge is Urania with Thomas, but Hasbrouck responds immediately. Bossi tries to create a first furrow by making 5 points in a row and serving the assist to Cipolla for the +7 which forces coach Zanchi to stop the game (9-2). A contracted Edilnol, which struggles to find points in this start of the race, takes advantage of Milan to extend to +12 with Thomas’s points. Hasbrouck and Davis keep the rossoblùs on the waterline at -7 (16-9): Urania timeout. Two triples from Nikolic and Thomas allow the home team to extend again. An uphill first quarter for Biella who closes 12 points down at 25-13.
SECOND FOURTH. Back on the parquet with Soviero, Bertetti, Porfilio, Davis and Infante. Urania continues to shoot with percentages on the verge of perfection from the bow, Biella tries to stay in the wake with Bertetti’s baskets and Soviero’s 2 + 1 (28-18). Bertetti is the most effective offensive solution in this phase of the match and brings his team back to -6 at 31-25. Montano interrupts the negative moment of his for the new +8. A triple from Bertetti, the most inspired of the rossoblùs, brings Edilnol back to -11, but Urania continues to hammer from the three-point line. After 30 minutes of play it is 56-42 for the Lombards.
LAST ROOM. Zanchi lines up Bertetti, Porfilio, Pollone, Vincini and Infante to start the last quarter. Bossi opens the partial with the +16 basket, Soviero scores the first two points of the fourth from Biella. The home team maintains control, despite the baskets by Infante and Hasbrouck who try to keep Biella in the game (60-48). A triple from Hasbrouck rekindles red and blue hopes, forcing coach Villa to call a timeout. Upon returning to the parquet, Urania has the clarity not to break up and close the match. At the Allianz Cloud it ends 72-63.
A game that immediately started uphill for Edilnol who tried to stay in contact by exploiting Bertetti’s extremely positive evening (18 points for him), but the percentages from the arc and the greater precision of Urania Milano were decisive for the outcome of the match.
