Basketball Bundesliga: Bamberg remains on the road to success – regional

A little run

Both teams were evenly matched in the third quarter. After a good 25 minutes, however, the home side had a small run to the nine-point lead (59:50). However, Brose again failed to increase the lead. When it mattered, there was Jaren Lewis on Crailsheim’s side, who scored 12 points in the third period alone and kept his team in the game until the end of the quarter. Before the final section, Brose was leading by five points, the score was 67:62. The first three minutes of the last quarter belonged entirely to the home side. Sengfelder, Chris Dowe, Mitchell and Kyzlink ensured a 10-0 run and a 15-point lead (77:62, 33rd minute), which would have been tantamount to winning the direct comparison. It took almost four minutes before Crailsheim was able to finish successfully again for the first time. A gripping game developed, in which the 2673 fans gave their all to push their teams forward.

Crailsheim shortened

However: The guests got a second breath, also because Brose left too many easy points, sometimes not sinking the layup even in the third attempt. The result: Crailsheim reduced the lead to eight points again after 38 minutes (82:74). In the last 120 seconds, Brose tried everything again, but in the end the scoreboard was no more than a ten-point lead. And yet: The 91:81 win was the third in a row and keeps Bamberg’s playoff hopes alive. Brose, now in 10th place with 24:28 points, moved closer to the Crailsheim team (9th/24:22 points) in the table.
