At the beginning of the month, the Tarazona city council signed an agreement with the Aragonese Basketball Federation, for an amount of €4,000 for four years, to jointly organize activities and events and thus promote basketball in Tarazona. Mayor Luis José Arrechea and the president of the Aragonese Basketball Federation, José Miguel Sierra Porroche, attended the appointment, accompanied by the Councilor for Sports, Pablo Escribano, the president of the Tarazona Basketball Club, Rubén Domínguez and the former player of the Spanish National Team Basketball, Pepe Arcega.
With this agreement, the FAB undertakes to host future events, which it will provide with the human material and infrastructure necessary to carry out activities, as well as technical advice on sporting events that the Tarazona Basketball Club or the town hall itself can organize. This will also provide human and material resources, as well as the transfer of the necessary facilities, mainly the municipal pavilions for the dispute of events.
In the coming months and to start this agreement, various sporting events will be held, such as the Minibasket Selection Tournament, which will be held on March 26 and 27, for boys and girls of junior age, with a total of approximately 100 participants, together with the Clinid youth training session with Aragonese coaches, on March 26 and the I 3×3 Basketball Tournament, on June 25 and 26.
The mayor of the town stressed that “we have always thought that our culture, our heritage and especially sport is the best way to make Tarazona known and that every weekend there are activities, it is the best way to sell our city. ”.
