Phoenix (AP) – Basketball superstar LeBron James has reached the next milestone in his exceptional career.
The 37-year-old from the Los Angeles Lakers made his 10,000 on Sunday (local time). Submission in the North American professional league NBA. James is now the only player in NBA history with at least 30,000 points, 10,000 rebounds and 10,000 assists. But that didn’t give him much joy at first. The Lakers went down 111-140 in the game at the Phoenix Suns and have now suffered ten away bankruptcies in a row.
The best pitcher for the Suns, who are currently the best team in the league, was Devin Booker with 30 points. James had 31 points, but because he was already far behind, he didn’t play in the final quarter. When asked about his record, he said: “I’m speechless every time something like this happens to me. I dreamed of being in this league and now I’m the only one with a stat like that in this league.”
Hoping for Davis’ return soon
Meanwhile, Anthony Davis is hoping to return to the Lakers team despite his ankle injury. “I’m very optimistic. I’m trying to get back on the field as soon as possible,” said Davis, 29. Around four weeks after his injury, the 2020 NBA champion is scheduled to start throwing training this Monday.
Davis did not want to quantify the likelihood of a timely return. A comeback is planned for the end of March or the beginning of April, i.e. in good time before the most important phase of the season. “It will be a challenge for us. Anthony Davis will definitely help us, but it’s not the answer to all questions,” said James. The Lakers have so far had 29 wins and 38 losses, they are ninth in the Western Conference and as things stand at present they would have to play the so-called play-in tournament. There, places seven to ten play out two playoff participants.
