Last quarter fatal for Liofilchem Roseto, which with the passing of the minutes yields to RivieraBanca Rimini. The second force of the tournament beats the biancazzurri 82-67, who maintain four points of advantage over the Romagna, who, however, have a game to recover.
For the big match Quaglia finds Amoroso, Pastore and Serafini again, with only Ruggiero unavailable. First white and blue advantage with a triple from Di Emidio, imitated in reverse parts by Scarponi. Rimini hunts the arrow with Rinaldi. However, balance reigns and on 5 ‘the hosts lead 10-7 after a bomb by Tassinari. The guys from Ferrari in the following minutes stretch to +8 before the return to Roseto in the final of the fraction, which ends at 19-16.
At the start of the second period, Roseto keeps in close contact with the opponents, without however being able to put his head forward, however returning to -1 with two free shots of the returning Serafini. Quaglia’s quintet finds parity just before 15 ‘, overtaken instead at 28-25 after another triple by Scarponi. Rivierabanca, however, tries to stretch again, re-extending the gap to six lengths but also in this case the Liofilchem in closing fourth manages to fill a large part of the gap, returning to the locker room at 36-33. Tassinari with 10 single player in double figures in the middle of the race.
Five points in a row by Nikolic in the second half allow Roseto to lead the race for the second time since the start. After Masciadri’s triple it is still the number 55 who puts the biancazzurri ahead in the score; this time, however, Rimini’s counter-reaction is vehement with a 9-0 run that forces Quaglia to call a time-out, at the end of which comes the bagpipe bomb that brings the score to 48-43 in the 25th minute. The Rosetan comeback is vehement and in less than 2 ‘Liofilchem even wastes the overtaking shot with Mei. Third quarter final with Roseto who puts his head forward for a few moments with Amoroso but on the other side comes Scarponi’s long-range torpedo that closes the period at 53-52.
In the following hundred seconds the RivieraBanca extends to 56-52 with Quaglia again calling time-out. The biancazzurri remove the score shortly after with a free from Nikolic but on the reverse field they still hit Tassinari and Arrigoni by two. First field goal in the fraction for Liofilchem again with Nikolic. However, the triple of +8 signed by Masciadri arrives, which induces the blue-white coach to play another “minute” to talk to him about him. The advantage of the hosts touches the double figures, but two points from Nikolic usually reduce the gap to 65-57 in the 35th minute.
