Severe setback for medi Bayreuth in the fight for participation in the play-offs in the BBL. On Wednesday evening in the Oberfrankenhalle, the Upper Franconians had to acknowledge an 89:95 defeat against Gießen, which had been in last place up to that point. With another eleven wins and now twelve defeats, the Korner team remains below the ominous line after eighth place.

Kendale McCullum with 23 and Nuni Omot with 20 points led the guests from central Hesse to their fifth win of the season. Gießen now has ten plus points, just like its competitors Würzburg and Frankfurt.

Frankfurt conceded the next defeat at home against BG Göttingen with a score of 65:73. The Skyliners catch little money, especially against Kamar Baldwin and Harald Frey (both 18 points). The violets underpinned their play-off ambitions with their 13th victory.
