BBL: Hamburg Towers with DBB star Hollatz near Bayern Munich

The national team was happy about this first real Justus Hollatz fragrance brand for the DBB selection. With 16 points and eight assists, he led the German basketball players to a narrow and important victory (71:67) in Israel on Friday.

“Of course it was a special feeling to take on so much responsibility. The fact that I then hit the shots was very nice,” says Hollatz of MOPO. In the second leg, the 84-80 win on Monday, he played a smaller but again elementary role in the German team. “It was also perfectly okay to watch the game from outside at the end. The most important thing was that we won. We did that.”

However, both games show one thing: the Towers youngster has arrived in the national team. “When I came here, he was still playing for ProA. Now he has a big role here and in the national team,” says his coach Pedro Calles about his development.

These days, however, every game is a privilege, says Coach Calles: “Being a sports professional in this situation is a great thing. You can forget the situation in the world for a few hours.” Meanwhile, the Russian Towers opponent Krasnodar was excluded from the Eurocup. It is unclear whether the first leg victory of the Hanseatic League (100:82) will count.
