• Today, the Latvian Quartet with Baiba Bendika, Annija Sabulis, Sanita Buliņa and Sandra Buliņa played an unsuccessful relay in Kontiolahti.
• Baiba Bendika started the relay for Latvia and went through a very bad stage, earning three penalty laps in both shootings. Lying down in the shooting, Bendika didn’t even close one target with three extra rounds, but two whole ones standing up in the shooting. The unsuccessful shooting dropped Latvia to the last place, more than three minutes behind the leader Norway and the Czech Republic, the penultimate place owner, by a little more than a minute and a half.
• In the second stage, Annija Sabule went, but she did not finish it, and in the final stage she was overtaken by a circle. Sabule did not earn a penalty lap, using three extra rounds in both shots.
• In general, Latvian biathletes became the only ones who were overtaken by a circle and thus did not close the competition. Meanwhile, the French biathletes, who were still in 6th place after the last shooting, were disqualified. Latvia thus finished the competition in 16th place.
• With only four extra cartridges, the Norwegian biathletes, who overtook the Swedish and Italian athletes, triumphantly triumphed in the stage. The Swedes used a total of eight additional cartridges, while the Italians used seven.
• Although the German biathlete earned two penalty laps during the competition, she was able to finish at the finish just behind the podium in fourth place. Swiss and Austrian biathletes also made the top six. Estonians entered the top ten, finishing in 9th place.
