Big changes await Hradec. Not only Oksanen, coach Čihák is also leaving. Will the world champion nod to the new offer?

After winning the Presidential Cup, Hradec did not hide his medal ambitions for the winners of the basic part of the extra league, but he was left with no wish. Mladá Boleslav issued a quarter-final stop to Mountfield. Also because with 25 goals, the team’s best scorer in the long-term phase of the Oksanen competition scored the only assist in the playoffs.

Nevertheless, the East Bohemians continued to show interest in the services of the 29-year-old winger, and the agreement was said to be far from short. “For several months, Ahti and his agent and I have been negotiating very intensively. Although we reached an agreement on all points, including financial evaluation, Ahti finally decided to sign a new contract in Sweden during the playoffs, “said Aleš Kmoníček, general manager of the Hradec Králové club.

“According to him, these are only sports reasons, when he believes that this is where he can move more sports. In any case, we thank Ahti for his maximally professional services and approach and wish him good luck in the years of hockey. He knows very well that his door is always open in Hradec, “Kmoníček added.

The goalkeeper Filip Novotný, whose hosting ended and is heading to Mladá Boleslav, will not continue with Východočechů either. According to the daily Sport, coach Ladislav Čihák is also heading there, creating a tandem with Radim Rulík on the switch.

Defender Radim Šalda and forward Jakub Orsava, whose contracts have expired, also end up in Hradec Králové. The contract also expired for 2010 world champion Petr Koukal. But the 39-year-old forward received a two-way contract from Mountfield, saying he should spend most of next season in partner Cologne and be a leader and role model for young players. If necessary, the coaches of Hradec Králové could use it in the extra league at any time. The question is whether Koukal will accept such an offer.

The two-way contract with the possibility of working in Kolín was also offered to the pupil Patrik Miškář. and another striker, Jan Veselý.

Finnish goalkeeper Henri Kivia and Christophe Lalancette will continue to work in Mountfield. Both options have been exercised, and the club’s leadership is negotiating a new contract with the Canadian striker. The new contract, with a conditionality regarding a valid visa, was also concluded by the Russian forward Nikita Shcherbak. The new contract was recently signed by defender Michael Gaspar.
