Everton are among the select group of clubs that have never been relegated from the Premier League, but will have to take serious care this season. Donny van de Beek and his colleagues were outclassed on Monday evening and had to leave North London with their tails between their legs, after a humiliating 5-0 defeat.
After fifteen minutes of play, Michael Keane led into an evening full of disaster when the ball blasted past teammate Jordan Pickford: 1-0. Not long afterwards, the same Pickford misjudged a slider from Heung-Min Son and before halftime it also became 3-0, after Harry Kane was given free passage.

In the second half Tottenham happily continued to combine and Everton came a step too late everywhere. Forty seconds after the kick-off, Sergio Reguilon was able to pull the trigger unhindered: 4-0. A nice volley from Kane made it 5-0, but more suffering remained The Toffees saved. Van de Beek was released from his suffering after an hour of play and Dele Alli, who had been picked up from Spurs, experienced a painful substitute against his old club.
Frank Lampard’s team still has three make-up games to go, but after 25 duels is on 22 points, just above number eighteen Burnley. Tottenham is also still a few rounds behind, but is interfering in the battle for the Champions League places: Antonio Conte’s team comes next to number six West Ham United for the time being and is three points behind rival and number four Arsenal.
And there is Harry Kane again! ????
