Boe. The sporting and associative dynamics of the Archers

the essential
After two years of Covid-19 and efforts to adapt and bounce back, the dynamism of the Boé archery club is paying off.

Recently meeting in general assembly, Les Archers de Boé present a good balance sheet and dynamic future projects. While many clubs have lost an average of 30% of licensees, the numbers are stabilized in Boé: 166 archers including 115 children and young people.

The constraints linked to the pandemic during training and competitions have been significant, but the sporting results are there thanks to the will of the leaders to adapt and move forward. However, despite the quality of the existing structure, the investment of coaches and volunteers, the equipment is not currently adapted to the development of high-level competitors. They must, in fact, integrate the hopes pole in Nantes or the France pole in Bordeaux. An uprooting that is sometimes insurmountable for very young athletes and the cost of which is also high. In summary, why send young shoots so far from their Agen bases when the club already has the human and technical resources internally to supervise them? On the strength of this observation, the leaders have imagined, with the support of the municipality, a project which will give a new impetus to the club and will energize the structure not only in the field of high level, but also in those of disabled sports and recreational shooting. : the construction of a covered firing point. This achievement, which is currently the subject of a call for projects, should see the light of day by 2024. It will allow archers to train under cover at the end of the day and in all seasons.

On the other hand, as of this year, work will be carried out by the community to improve the sports structure. This program includes the construction of an Olympic-distance outdoor shooting range, bringing the hall up to accessibility standards and the construction of a shadehouse for outdoor shooting using photovoltaic panels. Games preparation center (CPJ) for its archery facilities, the town of Boé will be ready to welcome future champions. With a structure thus optimized, the leaders have the will to create a real sports center under the label of the club in partnership with the National Education on the model of “sport study”.

Next June, the club will host for a weekend, the French senior team championship D1 and, new in 2022, a round of the D2. On this occasion, the Archers will also celebrate their 40th anniversary. Invitations have been sent out to bring together all the coaches and athletes who have registered their name and that of the club on numerous sports awards during a memorable evening. Beautiful reunions in perspective.
