Boulogne-Levallois won (83-81) against a catchy Asvel team after a breathtaking final on Sunday, during the 21st day of Betclic Élite. With this success, Vincent Collet’s men have just broken a series of three consecutive defeats while, at the same time, Asvel is experiencing its first setback in 2022 in the Championship. Boulogne-Levallois therefore takes the lead alone after 22 days.

This is the number of points scored by Will Cummings on Sunday against Asvel. Of all the fights, the American also had two rebounds and made 13 of 14 free throws.
However, Asvel came back strong
Vincent Collet’s men dominated the first quarter (24-20) despite a sluggish start to the game. Then they accelerated in the second, widening the gap to 18 points (38-20). Keith Hornsby also shone (14 points, 4 rebounds). Physically fresher (12 players) against Boulogne-Levallois and its many absentees, Asvel managed to win the last two quarters (20-16, 20-18), in vain. Returning to just two points at the end of the game, TJ Parker’s men lacked success against the basket and fell on a good defense from the locals, with in particular a final decisive stop from Tomer Ginat.
During the next day, Boulogne-Levallois will travel to Orleans (March 11) while Asvel will go to Dijon (March 12).
