the essential
Football, rugby, handball: all the results of the weekend.
The event of the weekend was the gala match between the women of Toulouse FC and their counterparts of AS PTT Montpellier. Two clubs which, if the competition stopped today, would reach the national D2. An event perfectly organized by the GFPLM, which gathered a relatively large audience behind the handrail of the Saint-Exupéry stadium. Beautiful football offered by these two fine teams, which lent themselves well to the game to the delight of the young people of the GFPLM who accompanied them to the center of the field before kick-off, and the spectators, most of whom were surprised by their technical level.
“We will come back”
The TFC, a little above, logically dominated Montpellier in score. “The welcome was very warm and the facilities are magnificent, we will come back”, promised the technicians from Toulouse and Montpellier to the president Franck Varilles and to the Mayor, who came to watch the match.
For the GFPLM, only one team was out, the U15s lost 2-0 to the leader (Groupement du Sud Narbonnais).
Le Lauquet, it locks… No goal scored on the field of Saint-Hilaire during the meeting between the locals and the Bramais after a poor quality match. Nothing changes in the standings except that the pursuers of the “blues” (still in the lead) are not very far away. The B team was dominated on the field of Mas-Saintes-Puelles 2-1, but the locals had few clear chances: they could very well have brought back the draw with a bit of success at the end of the meet. It was Alex who scored the Bramais goal from the penalty spot.
Handball. The women were dominated at Flourens 37-11.
Rugby: objective achieved. Traveling to Mirepoix, PLM XV had to wait a good hour of play before opening two decisive breaches to garner the maximum number of points. Ankour had requested the scoreboard attendant with a power try after a quarter of a game and, as a bonus, Andrieu’s kick to improve it, but the locals almost made up the entire delay by returning to 7-6 at the start of the second period. The coaches brought in fresh players, who helped to build on the work of undermining the starting XV with two tries from winger Bauer and again Ankour. The match was “folded”, the objective was not to cash a try to take the offensive bonus point. Goal achieved. With the underperformance of the two competitors, it’s a perfect day for President Billard’s group, alone at the top of the group, three games behind the pursuers!
