Bundesliga: Frankfurt cries for Grabowski and wins for the Eintracht legend – Bundesliga

He must have been watching from above and cheering!

Frankfurt’s 2-1 win against Bochum was all about Eintracht legend Jürgen Grabowski, who died on Thursday at the age of 77.

Frankfurt is crying for Grabowski!

“Grabi” played for Eintracht for a total of 15 years (441 games/109 goals), won the cup twice, and also won the European Championship in 1972 and the world championship in 1974 on his 30th birthday.

Before the start of the game, there was an emotional commemoration in his honor at the stadium. President Peter Fischer (65) paid tribute to him in a laudatory speech, saying: “Jürgen will never go completely because he is always there.” And to the applause of the entire stadium, he said to Jürgen’s longtime wife Helga, who was live in the stadium : “Helga, this is your family”.

The fans also paid tribute to their hero. A poster read: “Heroes live long and legends never die. But only gods are resurrected. See you soon, Grabi!”

The club had previously laid out a book of condolences in front of the museum for fans who were queuing to sign. And the ultras, who don’t go to the stadium themselves yet, have gathered in front of the arena and started singing songs about Grabowski.

After a minute of silence, during which Kostic held up a Grabowski jersey, the ball rolled.

The guests from Bochum got off to a better start and took the lead 1-0 (19 th ) with Polter’s 8th goal of the season.

But after the break, Frankfurt turned the game around completely. Shortly after the restart, Masovic equalized with an own goal (46′), before Kamada made it 2-1 (52′) – and made Eintracht’s three clear.

It was also a win for Eintracht legend Jürgen Grabowski!
