The prestigious Adidas Minimes Saint Cyprien International Judo Tournament was held in France, where the Fujiyama Albacete club participated, representing our country and, therefore, the city. The level of the competition was very high, since the most prominent European judo participated in the children’s category.
The results obtained by the Albacete judokas were excellent. Carla Castillejos Castaño, who after winning all her rounds went on to play a hard-fought and even final, got a meritorious second place and, therefore, the silver medal, and Valeria Rodríguez Fedorova played several fights and came sixth in her category .
On the other hand, the Fujiyama club, after 40 years as one of the pioneers of the Castilla-La Mancha Judo Federation, abandoned it to join other federations such as the Valenciana and Madrileña, “much more in line with the line of work of this historic club from Albacete,” he said in a statement. “We hope that one day we will also represent Castilian-Manchego judo,” he added.
