Unsurprisingly, the Russian Football Federation does not intend to accept the decisions of FIFA and UEFA. After the exclusions from the 2022 World Cup play-off selection and Spartak Moscow from the Europa League due to the war launched in Ukraine, the Russians reacted by seizing the Court of Arbitration for Sport, according to information from the Agence France Presse this Tuesday.

During the time of this procedure, Russia is demanding the suspension of the sanctions imposed in order of course to be able to play in the play-offs for the World Cup in March, with initially a match planned against Poland, which refuses to play against Sbornaya. The CAS has thus officially announced the opening of two separate procedures targeting FIFA and UEFA, but also all the national federations which do not want to face Russia. A case to follow.
