Champions League: Inter Milan’s win against Liverpool is not enough – Football

Series torn, conceded first home defeat – and still on!

Jürgen Klopp and Liverpool FC lost 1-0 to Inter Milan at home and still reached the quarter-finals. In the first leg, the Reds won 2-0 in Milan.

Bitter for Liverpool: The team was unbeaten in their own stadium so far this season – and in all competitions!

At Inter, the German national player Robin Gosens (27) initially only sat on the bench. In the 5-0 win against US Salernitana on Friday, the new winter signing made his first assist.

In the early minutes, neither team had any chances to score. In the 25th minute, the referee interrupts the game. There is a medical emergency in the stands. Shortly after that you can continue.

Then the Liverpool central defenders had a double chance. First Joel Matip (30) hits the crossbar with his head after a free kick, after the following corner an Inter player deflects Virgil van Dijk’s (30) header past the goal.

It goes into the break without a goal. After half-time, the Aluminum Inter saves again. This time Mohamed Salah (29) only hits the post.

But it is the Italian champions who take the lead. Lautaro Martinez (24) is able to pull away from the edge of the penalty area and the ball flies into the far corner (61′). A great goal!

But just two minutes later, the euphoria at the Italian club has already evaporated. Alexis Sanchez (33) grabs his opponent and collects the yellow-red card. A questionable decision, the Chilean previously played the ball.

In the 75th minute, Salah hits the post again. Inter need the second goal to go into extra time, but they can’t get dangerously into the Liverpool penalty area

This marks the beginning of a real winning streak for Liverpool. The Reds had previously won 12 games in a row. They’re still going.
