Czech midfielder Tomáš Souček did not finish Wednesday’s FA Cup match against Southampton, because in the 49th minute he received a blow to the face from the French player of Ibrahimy Diall’s team. A large amount of blood then began to flow to West Ham’s support and it had to be replaced. The successful representative took it away with the big scar he boasted about on the instagram.
Tomáš Souček celebrated his birthday on Sunday with a single and winning goal against the Wolves, which kept West Ham in the game for the European Cups for next season, as the Hammers occupy a temporary fifth position. But the eight-final FA Cup match at Southampton didn’t work out that well.
The home team took the lead in Perraud’s 31st minute. They managed to keep this until the end of the first half. But right at the beginning of the second, West Ham lost his key player when Ibrahim Diallo leaned hard on Tomáš Souček and hit him in the face with his hand. The Czech player immediately jumped to the ground, after which paramedics gathered up to treat Tomáš Souček. The shaken midfielder was unable to continue the match, so Said Benrahma replaced him.
The next day, Tomáš Souček published a photograph on the instagram, in which he “boasted” the scar he had left after this ugly procedure. “Another scar in my collection. I feel ready to fight again, there is no fear for me,“Souček wrote on the post.
West Ham did not manage the match in the end. Without Tomáš Souček, he collected twice more and eventually lost 1: 3. Southampton advanced to the quarterfinals of the FA Cup.
