Two FA Cup round of 16 took place before the match between Liverpool and Norwich: Chelsea moved to the lawn of Luton Town (Championship), while Southampton received West Ham in another duel between Premier League teams. The Blues got out of the trap late in the game (3-2) while the Saints won against the Hammers (2-1).
Thomas Tuchel’s men were however led at the break by Burke (2nd) and Cornick (40th) despite the equalizer from Saul (27th). Nevertheless, Werner (68th) and Lukaku (78th) allowed the Londoners to win and slip into the quarter-finals. For his part, So’ton had opened the scoring thanks to the superb goal of Frenchie Perraud (31st, video below) but was joined by Antonio (60th). Ward-Prowse finally restored the advantage to the locals (69th), before Broja made the break on an individual feat (90th +5), synonymous with victory and qualification for the next round.
