A consortium led by American businessman Todd Boehly and Swiss billionaire Hansjorg Wyss has made an offer to buy English club Chelsea from Roman Abramovich. The information is reported by British media.
Boehly, co-owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball club, had already tried to acquire the London club two years ago by offering 2.2 billion pounds (about 2.7 billion francs). The Daily Telegraph writes that the American businessman transmitted his new offer via the investment bank Raine, based in New York.
Wyss, 86, the founder of medical equipment company Synthes, told Swiss newspaper Blick last week that he had been approached to buy Chelsea. A spokesperson for Abramovich declined to comment on this news report.
