Chelsea: John Terry involved in the future shareholding of the club?

Will John Terry be one of Chelsea’s shareholders? This is a possibility not to be ruled out according to information from Sky Sports. Indeed, Roman Abramovich has put the club up for sale, a procedure which is organized by the Bank “Raine Group”. Four candidates are officially still in the running, and have until April 11 to finalize their offers.

Among these future buyers, three were contacted by the “True Blues” consortium in which John Terry is involved, former emblematic captain of Chelsea. This consortium wishes to acquire 10% of Chelsea and has requested it from Sir Martin Broughton, Thomas Ricketts, owner of the Chicago Cubs, and Todd Boehly, 50% owner of the LA Dodgers. These are the three main competitors to the takeover of Chelsea.

True Blues representative Sandford Loundon said: “Thousands of dedicated Chelsea supporters and fans have contributed £100 million to the True Blues consortium. We have positive discussions with the main buyers and with the bank. Our aim is to ensure Chelsea fans have a voice in this unprecedented time for the club.” The London club is still subject to the special license granted by the British government, as long as it has not been sold. Roman Abramovich is thus hoping for a quick sale of up to 2.5 billion pounds.
