Colombia’s judo Stars Gear Up for Rosario 2022
Colombia’s brightest young judo talents are ready to take on the South American stage.following a rigorous national selection process in Cali, the Colombian Judo Federation has unveiled its seven-member squad for the upcoming Rosario 2022 South American Youth Games.
The team, comprised of four exceptional women and three promising men, will represent Colombia in the prestigious competition, which will be held in Rosario, Argentina, from April 28th to May 7th, 2022.Leading the charge for the women’s team are Karen Agudelo and Saray Noval, both competing in the 63-kilogram weight class. They will be joined by Manuela crespo in the 44-kilogram division and Wandy Golú in the 52-kilogram category.
The men’s team boasts a formidable lineup as well. Jonathan Castillo will compete in the 66-kilogram weight class, Lucas Guerrero in the 81-kilogram division, and Jerónimo Pino in the 55-kilogram category.
These young athletes have demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication,earning their spots on the national team through intense training and competition. The South American Youth Games, featuring athletes aged 14 to 17, will provide them with a valuable platform to showcase their talent and compete against the best young judokas in the region.

Coach Rodriguez: Karen Agudelo and Saray Noval are both extraordinary judokas with different strengths. We felt having two athletes in the 63-kilogram division allows us to explore different tactical approaches and maximize our chances for medals.
