FIFA has already notified the federations about the arbitration shortlists selected for the last two days of the South American Qualifiers, which will define the last qualified for the Qatar World Cup and will deliver a team to the playoffs. The Colombia selection which will start on March in Barranquilla will have Argentine referees against Bolivia.
The Colombian Football Federation reported this Tuesday that it is the referee Facundo Tello, who will be assisted by Juan Pablo Belatti and Cristian Navarro. The VAR will be in charge of Germán Delfino.
Although Tello, 39, has little experience directing national team matches, he has already sanctioned a match against Colombia in Barranquilla. It was in the 0-0 against Paraguay, in which he had no major complications. However, he does carry on his shoulders having been the VAR assistant in that controversial match directed by the also Argentine Néstor Pitana to the tricolor in Copa América against Brazil.
Now, Facundo Tello will have a new challenge directing Colombia in the Qualifiers. It will be in the match corresponding to day 17, which will be played on Thursday, March 24, at 6:30 pm, at the Metropolitan Stadium in Barranquilla.
