Almost every Slavia fan, when they look at their team’s line-up from time to time, thinks, ‘What the hell is that?’ But the stitched supporters have already learned to trust Jindřich Trpišovský, because he knows very well what he is doing. And he showed it again with LASK Linz.
“We could not count on twelve shortlisted players, two players who were supposed to play fell out in the morning. What had arms, legs and lungs had to go into the match, “ Trpišovský explained at the press conference. That you would notice any excuses and complaints before the match? No way.
It almost seems that the Slavia implementation team enjoys moments when they have to experiment a lot and put together a set of what’s left. That’s what it looked like against LASK.
After a month, Plavšič appeared on the back, Holeš pulled on the stopper, and for the first time, Talovjerov appeared in his new position at the base. Only 16-year-old Adam Pudil took the right wing again.
When Slavia’s fans saw this line-up before the match, many of them were very shocked. And imagine how the LASK scouts must have been shocked. But Trpišovský succeeded again. Like several times.
Compared to the derby, Slavia made 5 changes in the starting line-up. Three players took on unusual positions. But that it would be known at the team match? Not. The staplers showed a great performance and won 4: 1, with better productivity they could easily score another 3-4 goals. How is it possible?
Game system
All players in Slavia are tactically at a huge level. This is aided by Trpišovský’s video, which sometimes takes a few hours. However, each player then knows how to behave in what position and what to do in which situation. The coaches can play with the players as they wish and with a little exaggeration they could handle the match even if they turn the group upside down.
Another key point is a working system. Every player in Slavia is an extremely good football player and he just plays football, only in a different position. But in the Trpišov system, he knows exactly how to behave. For example, against LASK, it was clear what Slavia’s plan was with the match.
Holding the ball on the right, LASK pulled out a high presink and almost incomprehensibly almost all the players moved to the center of the game. As soon as a Slavist got to the ball facing Linz’s goal, he immediately turned the ball to the left, where almost always the completely free Plavšič lurked and ran into the break.
Thus, Slavia was angry several times in the first half. After a collected goal in the second half, she fell out of the role a bit and did not know how to get to the opponent. So she simply returned to what she had in pre-match training. Samek from the center of gravity on the right opened the free Plavšič on the left, who moved Tecl, whose embossed center ended in Traoré.
Last but not least, the teamwork factor is extremely important. Slavia is full of a team, a healthy atmosphere in the cabin and it will infect all players who come. Instead of his favorite midfield, Holeš has to go to a stopper, where he will catch the onslaught of opponents, but he doesn’t complain and shows one of the best performances on the field.
The same Plavšič, who would certainly like to attack against a weaker opponent, but has to back. He easily stands on the edge of defense, supports attack from this position and is also one of the best on the field.
That is the greatest strength. Names do not play a role in Slavia. It doesn’t matter if he plays or if the attacker has 100 goals or the defender has 300 starts. In Slavia, the system plays and the players are just installed in it. And thanks to that, red and whites are so successful in the long run. Because they do not rely on individuals who leave over time, but on a team.
