No matter the city or the stadium, the moment of Corrientes Básquet seems to have no time or space. This time it was at the Ciudad de Santiago del Estero Stadium, where again, with a great collective effort, the team from Corrientes accounted for Catamarca Basket by 61 to 47, thus adding the fifth victory in a row.
From the first quarter Novatti’s took an advantage that allowed them to clearly dominate the game to their liking until the close. Sofía Cabrera was again a figure with 15 points, while Armesto and Bazán converted 10 each. In Catamarca Rebola was the top scorer with 14 points.
The first part of the game showed some parity on the board until late in the quarter, when things went 8 to 10 for Corrientes, in an entertaining duel with a good pace from both sides. In this way they achieved a partial from 0 to 8 to finish the initial quarter 8 to 18.
The second period continued with the superiority of the team from Corrientes, which put its second unit on the field to maintain the intensity and defensive pressure, and making the attack flow by moving the ball. With this good level of play, those from the Northeast were up 16 (11 to 27), and were able to maintain the advantage almost without complications, and the first half was 17 to 31 for Corrientes Básquet.
After the long break, the team from Corrientes quickly took the maximum advantage of the game with two bombs, one from Cabrera and the other from Bazán, to move away to 20, 17 to 37 in just over a minute.
Despite the fact that at the beginning of the last quarter Catamarca once again had a rise, staying 33 to 45 in just over a minute of play, Centurión and Cabrera appeared to cut the rival momentum. The Litoral team took the opportunity to rotate the team and give minutes to the entire squad, and knew how to manage the advantage and the clock to end up sentencing one more victory by 47 to 61.
In this way, Corrientes Básquet stretches its good progress, reaching five victories in the same number of games, remaining undefeated in the 2022 Women’s League Opening. On Sunday from 9:30 p.m. at the Ciudad Stadium it will face the host, Quimsa.
