Westerlo currently has a lead of eight points in 1B with one game less played. Jonas De Roeck and his men can already smell the title.
But de Roeck keeps both feet on the ground. “We are indeed in good shape, but we have to stay focused. Our goal is to win the title and get promoted to 1A. We will have to keep working hard until we get there. We should not think that the title is already within our reach because then we will automatically lose our concentration and we will lose points.”
De Roeck also has personal ambitions. “I especially want to write a great success story with Westerlo. This means the promotion and development of a stable first division team. Of course I would like to move up in the future. I am still young and have ambition. Whether in Belgium or abroad, I don’t care,” quotes Le Vif.
De Roeck is not yet very concerned with the future. “Although it seems to me a bit more difficult to coach a high-level Belgian club than an average-level team abroad. I’m not looking too much into the future right now. I really enjoy being in Westerlo and now I especially want to win the title.”
