Bayern and Wolfsburg are the two dominant teams in the Bundesliga in recent years. It is not surprising that this pairing is said to have an early final.

On the Easter weekend, VfL will be challenged on the Bayern campus and will then want to repeat their success from the 2019/20 season, when they had the upper hand 3-1 in the round of 16 in the Bavarian state capital.

In any case, VfL has so far turned out to be a real cup dread for the Munich team: Wolfsburg has won seven of the eight previous cup duels, Bayern only the first on November 6, 2005 (4:2). VfL also won the most recent league game in Munich.

We want to expand our winning streak in the DFB Cup.

This is probably one of the reasons why coach Tommy Stroot believes “that Bayern will not be happy with this lot either”. Nevertheless, he knows that it won’t be an easy task in Munich, but: “We’re up to the task and will do everything we can to extend our winning streak in the DFB Cup.”

The semi-finals will be played on April 17th and 18th. Bayer 04 Leverkusen and Turbine Potsdam meet in the second semi-final. The finale will take place on May 28th in Cologne.
