Badminton Huesca: A Thriving Hub for Young Talent

Badminton Huesca,a club boasting over 200 members and more than 100 federative licenses,recently welcomed a distinguished delegation. Javier de Diego, the General Director of Sports for the Government of Aragon, along with Huesca City Council’s Sports Councilor, Jose Maria Romance, and Provincial Director of Education, amparo Roig, toured the club’s extraordinary facilities.

The visit highlighted the club’s commitment to nurturing young talent. With nine dedicated badminton courts and a dedicated coaching staff, Badminton Huesca has already produced Spanish champions in junior categories and fields competitive teams at the national level.

The club’s leadership presented their vision for the future, outlining their projects and needs. They emphasized their desire to be recognized as a leading badminton center and sought support from the government to further their goals.

This visit marks the beginning of a promising partnership. Follow-up meetings are planned to explore potential collaborations and support opportunities.

Rising Stars Shine at the Alfajarín Master

This weekend, Badminton Huesca’s rising stars will take center stage at the prestigious Alfajarín Master, a national tournament attracting approximately 200 of Spain’s top young players.

In the under-15 category, Huesca’s Raúl Bergua and Gonzalo Isábal are the top contenders in singles, holding the first and second seed positions respectively. they will also team up as the number one seeded doubles pair. Emma Bibián, representing VV. Osca, will also compete in the women’s singles.

The under-19 category features a strong Huesca contingent as well. Hugo Escoer, seeded eighth, and Alexander Gallego will compete in the men’s singles, while also forming a formidable doubles partnership. Julia Pomar and Aurora Otín will represent Huesca in the women’s singles and doubles, joined by Inés Acín and Elvira Gella.Lucas Morcate will partner with Gella in the mixed doubles.

The tournament format involves a preliminary league stage,where players must secure victory to advance to the final rounds. Sixteen players will qualify from the men’s singles, while eight will progress in the other categories.

Adding to the weekend’s excitement, Badminton Huesca will host a new Club Popular League on Sunday.
