The ATP, WTA, ITF, Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon and the US Open donated a total of $700,000 ($100,000 each) to kick off the Tennis Plays for Peace campaign.
After condemning the Russian invasion of Ukraine in a unified manner, the seven agencies came together to initiate humanitarian support. The money supports Global Giving’s Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund, which will help immediately in the region, as well as the Ukrainian Tennis Federation.
Elina Svitolina and Sergiy Stakhovsky (Ukrainian tennis players) lent their voices to the video released this Tuesday to support the initiative. The possibility of donating is open to anyone who wants to do so.
