Dozens of arrests around PSV-FC Copenhagen match

The police arrested a few dozen football supporters on Thursday evening around the match between PSV and FC Copenhagen in Eindhoven. Both before and after the football match, it was restless around the Philips Stadium in the city. The mobile unit had to intervene with charges.

According to a police spokesperson, ‘severe steps were taken before the match to prevent confrontations between groups of supporters’. Officers on horseback were also deployed.

After the football match, which ended in a draw, football supporters “who apparently were again looking for a confrontation” caused unrest again. Several dozen people were subsequently arrested and taken to the police station.

After midnight, according to the spokesman, it was quiet again around the stadium and in the city.
